On April 6, 1975 so I was around a year old then when I was brought to Will Rogers airport in Oklahoma City OK by missionaries ,T and D. I was told we were all smuggled out of the country just in time pretty much because at the time Cambodia was at war. I really don't know much of the history there other than what I have read on the internet. From letters I have read from my parents and T and D during that time we barely escaped. I know we, all of us babies, were sick and malnourished. I had the chicken pox when arrived.
We did arrive on April 6, 1975. Finally. Apparently it was big news because there were TV reports and other journalist there as well. I know my family was interviewed the day after I arrived. I have seen the footage. My brother, M was the first to hold me when I was out of T and D's care. They say who ever holds a baby first is who they will bond with most. Well in my case I was held by many but those people were no longer in my life so M was the one who was here for life. So I gave him my chicken pox. How is that for bonding. And as I have gotten older I can see that holds true. My brother and I were always close and still are,, no matter what. I have always put him on a pedestal.
My Life As An Interracial Adoptee
I am an adult adoptee. I am just trying to understand and become familiar with adult attachment as well.
